Rice Krispie Treat Recipe
I don't want to hold you up too long, so let us get right to the recipe.
Here we go...
In order to make Rice Krispie Treats you will need (makes 24 squares):
- A quarter (1/4) cup of butter
- A ten ounce (10 oz.) bag of regular marshmallows, this should come with about 40 in the bag. Alternatively you can use three (3) cups of miniature marshmallows.
- Let's not forget the Rice Krispies. For this recipe you will need six (6) cups of delicous Rice Krispies cereal.
Once the butter is melted you should start adding the the marshmallows into the saucepan until the marshmallows have completely melted (this will require stirring).
Once the butter and marshmallows have melted, remove the saucepan from the heat.
Now it's time to mix it all together, add in the Rice Krispies cereal and make sure to coat well with the melted butter/marshmallow mixture.
Finally, using a silicone and/or buttered spatula (to prevent sticking), press the delicious mixture evenly into a pan sized 13" x 9" x 2" and allow time to cool.
(please note: butter, use non-stick spray or line the pan with wax paper, again to prevent sticking).
When your ready to eat some of your fresh and oh so wonderful Rice Krispie Treats you will simply cut the batch into squares. Enjoy!
MICROWAVE DIRECTIONS:
Instead of using a saucepan you can microwave* the butter together with the marshmallows on high for two (2) minutes and then stir together. Microwave again on high for another minute (just 1 minute more) and finally stir in the cereal, mixing well until all is well coated. Follow direction to press into the pan as stated above.
*please make sure to use a microwave safe bowl (large sized).
